Planned encounters can assure families’ time and special needs are accommodated and the physician’s time is used efficiently.  Practices can utilize input gathered from families to develop office practices that lead to planned encounters. To make significant strides in Medical Home quality improvement, practices need to engage in a structured process that engages the entire staff.
